Pepsiman, as he's known, has become one of the country's strangest fascinations since he began starring in the soda maker's advertisements, in which thirsty consumers are saved just in the nick of time by his ability to materialize Pepsi products out of thin air. And if you think that sounds weird enough, wait until you get a load of the videogame. Yes, the videogame.
Released last week, and titled simply "Pepsiman," the caffeine-powered superstar's second appearance on a console (his first was in the Sega Saturn version of Fighting Vipers) has him running Crash Bandicoot style through a variety of real-world locations, such as San Francisco, Tokyo subways, and mine shafts. But while the locations might be real enough, the situations our blue and red hero is placed in certainly aren't. He runs through living rooms, leaps over trenches, avoids manic construction workers, and runs from gigantic rolling Pepsi cans. And it only gets weirder from there.
